A Bloons game with deckbuilding elements
Bloons Card Storm is the spin-off of the Bloons Tower Defense series, mixing its tower defense roots with strategic deckbuilding as you use cards to strategize the best move in dominating your opponents. Developed by Ninja Kiwi, this free-to-play Bloons title retains the iconic monkeys and their abilities with a fresh gameplay idea that pits you against an enemy you must fight with strategic placements of units displayed by cards.
Bloons Card Storms features a flurry of cards from your favorite Bloons heroes. Each level comes with different challenges, all with increasing difficulty.
Play your cards wisely
Bloons Card Storm plays differently than other Bloons titles as it uses a deck-building mechanic instead of the titular tower-based strategy. Players must select their preferred cards into their deck within limits to build out the best strategy against players. Each card has a given rarity which are common, uncommon, rare, super rare, and ultra rare—each card having better stats and abilities the rarer it gets.
Cards are bought using gold; each round a player only receives a specific amount of gold, limiting the amount of times a player can use a certain card, or the number of cards played. The first player to deal 30 damage to their opponent’s Hero wins. The game has a lengthy campaign utilizing its PvE component, allowing players to practice as well as a PvP component, pitting players versus players.
In this game, there are lots of cards to choose from and build a strategy upon depending on your desired playstyle. Each Hero has different abilities which are game changers, making or breaking every match. Meanwhile, all the cards are balanced in a way that complements a certain build making it worthwhile to learn them. However, the game is imbalanced with some abilities on cards being stronger than others.
A strategic twist on the Bloons franchise
Bloons Card Storm brings a refreshing spin to the classic Bloons series by incorporating deck-building mechanics into its strategic gameplay. With a vast array of cards, unique Heroes, and both PvE and PvP options, the game offers depth and replayability. However, balancing issues with certain cards and abilities can impact fairness in competitive play. For fans of Bloons or strategy games, it’s an enjoyable but occasionally uneven experience.
